  • This post is a follow-up on the Announcement by Satan thread (notice the reference to Dozy Dawn and 666). This is my proposal to how we can revive Dreamworld. There are three parts to this notice, and I recommend you to read over carefully.

You are also going to vote on whether Dreamworld should continue in this game, and how it should continue.

    Preface

    DreamworldRevival

Back in the 2013-2014 winter, we were all excited when Dreamworld was released after the release of the 500th level. It brought up a parallel realm allowing you to play modified versions of existing levels with a new challenge, the *much hated* Moon Scale.

However, Dreamworld wasn't well received, and even up until the very end of Dreamworld, there were considerable more players who have reached levels in the two-thousands than there were players who reached Dozy Dawn, the once unexpected final episode of Dreamworld.

What really startled me (and all the other players and wikians out there) was that King actually decided to completely remove Dreamworld from the game, which I thought was still highly unlikely. It immediately put me into overtime work here, so I can announce to the wiki that Dreamworld had officially been deleted from the game.

    Nerfing the Moon Scale

Before, the moon scale works like that:

    • You make a match while the Moon Scale is in effect (it is not moonstruck):
    • The degree of imbalance will be recorded live, and can go beyond the maximum amount of imbalance which causes Odus to fall down.
    • If the next move still has the Moon Scale in effect, Odus will only fall down when all cascades have ended and the final imbalance exceeds the maximum amount, in either direction.
    • It is possible that a one-move fail will result. A single match can cause the Moon Scale to become fully unbalanced, resulting in a frustrating loss.
    • It is also believed that the board will spawn more candies on the side which the Moon Scale is tipping towards to further unbalance it.

My proposal will nerf the Moon Scale itself, which will encourage the development of Dreamworld episodes after Episode 45.

    • A) Inbalance: Degree of imbalance will still be recorded live, but will not go beyond the maximum amount of imbalance + 3.
    • B) Grace Period: If your move causes the Moon Scale to become fully unbalanced on one side, you will have a one-turn grace period, which Odus will not fall down. However, if your next move still results in the Moon Scale to become fully unbalanced on the same side, Odus will fall down.
      • This effectively prevents one-move failures.
      • If the Moon Scale is fully unbalanced on one side, and the next move causes the Moon Scale to be fully unbalanced on the other side, Odus will still stay up, and the grace period still holds.
    • C) Indicator: The moon scale will display the maximum amount of imbalance until Odus will fall down (if you fail the grace period).

    Poll

I have also provided a poll regarding should Dreamworld be revived back to the game. There are four stances to this poll. The main poll can be found on the home page or Dreamworld/Poll, titled Revival of DW, and there are four stances.

    1. Yes. Revive it, and extend beyond 665 levels. (Support, [10])
    2. Yes, but 665 will still be the final level. (Support-Neutral [7])
    3. Maybe. Good feature, but not really into it. (Neutral [5], Neutral-Oppose [3])
    4. No. Dreamworld is officially dead! (Oppose [0])

All users (including IP users) will also be able to vote here regarding your stance on reviving Dreamworld. A simple stance is worth one vote power. A stance with a constructive explanation is worth three. I will submit this idea to King Care and on facebook factoring both the home poll and the forum poll.

    * To show your stance, please mark {{Support}}, {{Support - Neutral}}, {{Neutral}}, {{Neutral - Oppose}} or {{Oppose}}.

    • For me, they should make cake bomb explosion not affect moon scale as well. And lives SHOULD be removed as well!

      • Combining color bomb + color bomb still affects to Moon Scale, because two of all candies still include in combination.
      • And you mean lives are unlimited? It is ot fair.

I think they should adjust "Quit button" like old version of Candy Crush Saga: The player can quit any level without making any moves on the board. The player will have more chances to retry and win.

I think its better if it affects to add some challenge.

    • For me, I don't care about the revival. Based on a poll on Levels article, 93% of all players like the regular world. I'm afraid that their rage on that gameplay will return. If they continue develop further Dreamworld episodes, which is impossible due to its completion, the weekly release on regular world will end, as we know that.

In the mobile version of Play with Friends, it also shows other players' progresses, including the number of levels they completed this week.

I noticed that the majority of players completed around 2-4 levels a week. Getting 15 levels a week is considered a "perfect" score, but you have to get more, or often much more than 15 if you want to reach the wrench.

I think King should release every episode biweekly just like during the non-satanic Dreamworld period.

If you look at the comments on the FB page in the past, even at present, there are players who were asking for new levels lately. Same as Pet Rescue Saga, another King game, which does currently. This is a terrible idea, based on reasons. Higher levels are harder due to the fact that they buffed these for no reason. The only action that can take is to nerf them, or revert to the original version.

        Loading editor
    • I would suggest reverting to the original versions later once there are about 200 or so levels after this one released.

        Loading editor
    • That's about 14 or more episodes later.

        Loading editor
    • Hahaha. Anyone heard of Monster Busters, another switch'n'match game?

        Loading editor
    • Yes. It has more levels than this game, with an occasional new levels release.

        Loading editor
    • It also have around only 500 000 active users as of now, and there isn't a good wiki about it.

It is basically a more hardcore version of Candy Crush Saga, with more interesting elements. There is also a soft currency (Gold is a premium one), and episodes have variable number of levels.

Also, combinations now are even more powerful if the two candies are of the same color.

        Loading editor
    • I heard of Cookie Jam, another switch and match game made by Jam City (formerly SGN), which has precisely 2895 levels and also a weekly release. But it's not as popular as Candy Crush Saga, and there's a wiki about that.

        Loading editor
    • There are 1749 floors and 2888 levels in Monster Busters. There are much more blockers and secondary board elements in this game. Let's stick with weekly release.

If we could revive Dreamworld, then every other week both Reality and Dreamworld will gain a new episode.

Note: I created the Secondary Elements page.

    • --MULLIGANACEOUS-- wrote: There are much more blockers and secondary board elements in this game.

Same as Cookie Jam, which also has new elements introduced a few episodes after the previous one.

        Loading editor
    • There has been long stretches of episodes not introducing new elements. Several did introduce specific occurrences of elements, only one in every four or five episode introduced new elements or an element combination. If Dreamworld is to be revived, I could suggest putting new elements and element combinations to the future levels, giving it a very early unofficial release.

Because i believe that the Dreamworld made the app larger than it originally was. Some phones may not be able to handle it. What i suggest if they add it back. Is.. They should make an option in settings to disable it or enable it. So it does not use as much app space. If they are going to add over 2000+ Levels to dreamworld. That would mean the game would have over 4000 Levels. most phones would have trouble handling it. Like mine. It is not a problem for PC players but for Phone it is. Also i think Dreamworld should be a premium item in the game. I think it should cost 50 Gold bars. (You start off with 50 anyways). The reason i suggest it costing 50. Is because that would make it more likely for King to add it. back. If its profit for them. (If it means people would buy more gold bars) Im pretty sure king would add it back. Or you could save gold bars up like i do.

Edit: Stance form. No other content changed.

Not really think so because they just add each configuration in a level into text document, 1 text document just for only 2KB(max:3KB), they even want put 100000 level also can as long as the memory space is not that high, nowadays the mobile ROM already start from 32GB,should be not much problem for it.

I checked the past Candy Crush versions. Currently CCS is at version 1.100.0.3 and the size is at 72.9 MB, and each new version adds around 1-3 MB to the game. The earliest version is 32.11 MB (it goes up to Episode 15).

For instance, jelly color levels didn't introduce, especially new mixed combinations, as of now. It's been many episodes since they've expected, like what you said. Along with the leaf element, it looks like nearly scrapped if it didn't introduce since ages ago.

        Loading editor
    • Much like mixed levels. They implemented a little too late, such that Mixed Levels are now advanced game content. More advanced than the Candy Frog.

        Loading editor
    • Imagine how long does it take to introduce new elements. Like, the period of time between UFO and Magic Mixers, which is nine months between the previous introduction.

        Loading editor
    • Why would King introduce new elements or new element combinations so slowly?

I have provided my own blueprints used for my fanon and level contest submissions. I also have a dedicated tutorial, which introduces all the elements so far in the game plus a few theoretical ones. Each element have an associate number in parenthesis; this represents the episode which this element is officially introduced.

The numbers and elements are in chronological order. Notice how the differences in numbers are very great starting from 26.

        Loading editor
    • Well, in "theoretical elements", you forgot the color bomb and jelly fish dispensers. coloring candies and its dispensers, and the seventh candy (cyan). There are way too many elements that looking forward to introduce in the future episodes, particularly months or years.

        Loading editor
    • Well Coloring Candies, the seventh candy, and purple jelly, are expected to be Soda/Jelly exclusive elements.

Color bomb dispensers can make a level a little too easy. But should color bombs spawn, they should spawn in very small amounts. Jelly fish and coconut wheel dispensers seem reasonable.

        Loading editor
    • What about UFO dispensers?

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, only those exclusive elements are just "exclusive" in those spinoffs, as the term implied that they're not found in the main game. Only the derivatives of color bomb and the rest of the elements are left. If color bomb dispensers make a level too easy, then it should balance the difficulty, as in not too easy, not too hard.

        Loading editor
    • Kinda like nerfing a level though. Should be implemented in DW.

        Loading editor
    • And even the higher levels that are affected by buffs.

        Loading editor
    • To prevent most players from getting too high. Then King might nerf it so they can reach these levels. They should also nerf the moon scale.

    • Hi Kizzwizz-  Thanks for posting on King Care. After a careful and thorough investigation and based upon our valuable players' feedback, it has been decided to say goodbye to Odus and his adventures in the Dreamworld. I am sorry that this may be disappointing for you.

The access to the Dreamworld levels has now been removed, as we focus on producing many more, new and exciting levels in the normal world, while also thinking up fun and creative new challenges and special events for you to enjoy.

I appreciate you taking the time to write to us and rest assured, I'll be sure to pass your feedback onto the team.

I hope this doesn't impact your enjoyment of the game and if you have any other questions or doubts please just let me know, I'm always happy to help.

Thanks for your understanding and have a sweet day!

    • Hahahahaha. But we still must treat it as if it has been discontinued. Is there any chance King will reconsider the shutting down of Dreamworld, especially without notice?

It seems completely disrespectful for King to completely sunset Dreamworld without any notice. Most game companies will remind players that major feature is to be shut down, so players won't be shocked by a surprise removal of progress (they will still be saddened).

I admire your work. You have made Candy Crush a whole new Science, maybe Candology?

I have a question, how do you test the fans' levels? I have downloaded Game Maker but I can only create levels and not test them! please answer ASAP!

      Thank you in advance!

    • @YourScreams Well it is much more difficult to exactly implement a copy of Candy Crush. However we can reprogram the Moon Scale so that Odus only falls if the moon scale stays fully unbalanced on the same side for two moves.

I am actually a statistician. I chose this game because I found a way to extract statistical information.

        Loading editor
    • How do you reprogram the Moon Scale?

        Loading editor
    • Basically, add a variable that dictates if the moon scale is already fully unbalanced AND if odus fell down. Odus falls if the moon scale is fully unbalanced on the same side for the SECOND consecutive turn.
