Before episode: Tiffi asks the Dutch Girl if she is looking for something. She replies that she has lost her wafer and says if she cannot find it she will eat the windmill, in which the windmill frowns. After episode:
Tiffi uses a metal (or, in this case, wafer) detector to find the wafer and the Dutch Girl does not worry about eating the windmill, and the windmill smiles.
Wafer Windmill is a hard episode, with a mean of 4.73. It contains four hard levels: 594, 595, 599, and 604, one very hard level: 600, two extremely hard levels: 597 and 605, and one nearly impossible level: 602. Overall, this episode is much harder than the previous episode, Gummy Gardens.
This was the last episode before the return of moves levels and timed levels (prior to redesigning).
This was the first episode to be affected by the 2022 September 29 redesign wave, the last being Fudge Fjord.
There seems to be palpable differences between this episode and the previous one, Gummy Gardens. This episode breaks and starts many trends, to name a few:
Episodes since Sweet Surprise contain at least four levels with less than 19 moves, but this episode has none. In fact, there are no levels with less than 19 moves until level 803 in Caramel Clearing, which is after the September 2022 mass redesign. It starts a trend where every level has at least 19 moves.
The episode contains a nearly impossible level, after a drought that started in Sour Salon (except for Jelly Wagon).
Episodes since Meringue Moor (Episode 34) contain no more than four hexagon levels, but this episode breaks that trend as there are seven.
This episode is an HTML5 world opener that starts with a jelly level (Level 591), instead of a candy order level, which was the case since Jelly Jungle.
This episode also broke a brief trend of being rated "somewhat hard" or lower, which started in Sticky Savannah. A general increase in difficulty occurs with this episode.
The only trends continued are having an episode finale that is rated "very hard" or higher, introducing some sort of new element, and having a low amount of ingredients levels.
When this episode was released on mobile devices, the level numbers get wider and much clearer. This made the game more attractive on mobile devices.
This is the second episode with the word "wafer" in its name. It is also the fourth time the first word of the episode in Reality is used before. It has Wafer like Wafer Wharf (which was ironically the episode that introduced candy order levels and had most).
The episode's pathway has been uncovered since the release of the previous episode.
The end of the story has an error: It says "Thank's a lot" when it should say "Thanks a lot".
This episode contains level 594, a level that formerly resembled a windmill. However, it was redesigned, because others may think it resembles a swastika.
This episode would most likely take place in the Netherlands.
The background on mobile devices show Tiffi using the wafer detector and the Dutch girl is happy.
This episode's background, map texture and story is reused for Flowering Fields.
